Port Investment and Container Shipping Markets
Mary R. Brooks chaired the International Transport Forum Roundtable on Port Investment and Container Shipping Markets in Santiago, Chile, 7-8 November 2013. The Roundtable, planned jointly between the ITF and the Government of Chile, examined the broader issues that influence the development of container transport, focusing on the plans developed for expansion of port capacity in central Chile. It was intended to provide guidance to the Government of Chile as well as lessons for ports in other parts of the world seeking to develop large scale container port projects. 
For a follow-on activity, the Chilean government and the ITF held a roundtable on the establishment of a logistics observatory and published a second Roundtable report.To download that report, click here
